According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 12.0 km² (4.6 mi²). 9.7 km² (3.7 mi²) of it is land and 2.4 km² (0.9 mi²) of it (19.61%) is water.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,056 people, 439 households, and 303 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 109.3/km² (283.1/mi²). There were 1,023 housing units at an average density of 105.9/km² (274.2/mi²).
There were 439 households out of which 27.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.9% were married couples living together, 5.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.8% were non-families. 24.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.1% had someone living independently who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.41 and the average family size was 2.88.
In the CDP the population was spread out with 23.1% under the age of 18, 4.5% from 18 to 24, 25.2% from 25 to 44, 28.2% from 45 to 64, and 18.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 43 years. For every 100 females there were 95.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.3 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP was $50,833, and the median income for a family was $53,708.
