As of the census of 2000, there were 3,800 people, 1,243 households, and 1,024 families residing in the town. The population density was 48.5/km?(125.6/mi?. There were 1,365 housing units at an average density of 17.4/km?(45.1/mi?.
There were 1,243 households out of which 44.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 71.2% were married couples living together, 7.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 17.6% were non-families. 14.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 4.9% had someone living independently who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.04 and the average family size was 3.34.
In the town the population was spread out with 30.3% under the age of 18, 6.4% from 18 to 24, 30.2% from 25 to 44, 24.4% from 45 to 64, and 8.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 97.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.5 males.
